The presentations in Krąg, held by the EVS volunteers, already have a long tradition. On the 7th of november was the german presentation. First I went shopping with the others volunteers. My plan was to make „Reibeplätzchen mit Apfelmus“ (potato pancakes with apple sauce) and „Herrencreme“ (some kind of straciatella pudding with rum aroma), sadly we couldn't find apple sauce. Instead we used marmelade. After cooking, I gave the presentation about my country and answered a lot of questions about food because Poland and Germany have a similar kitchen. Unfortunatley, I wasn't able to answer all of them. Then we proceeded to serve the food. The potato pancakes were really great, just like I remembered them from my childhood. The pudding was a little too sweet, but still good.
I got the feeling, that my audience was satisfied with the food. And even though most of them already knew a lot about Germany, I think I could give them a better view of the life in the smaller towns like mine.
