Mikel report - april

Hello again!!

The third week of April came with a visit of my family and very good weather to enjoy Poland.

We spent an incredible weekend in Krakow, going to the salt mine, walking around the Wawel hill and the vibrant streets of the old town, where we were discovering places with craftbeer and chilling climate.

On Wednesday we were back to Poznań and while my family was enjoying the town I started to organize the presentation of Nepal with Paczka and Magda. This culinary workshop was a special one because after some helping children by using physiotherapy months in a small village in Nepal, they came back and they explained us their work and shared their experiences.

For the presentation we prepared dal bhat, a traditional food that is based on white rice, lentils, vegetables and a lot of spices as cumin, turmeric, black pepper and coriander. Basically was a mix of everything in the pot. Besides they brought some Nepali tea that we mixed it with milk and cinnamon, the proper way to do it in Nepal :D

On Thursday Saray, Samuele, Alexandra and I went to AMU University to the Festival of social Innovations to promote the volunteering and we had one workshop explaining the EVS programme, how to apply and how to find the best project. We also were interviewed in a local radio programme to explain a bit why are we here and what kind of projects we are developing.

Moreover, we continue with the Lazarus garden activities and on Friday Samuele prepared a graffiti t-shirt workshop. The children were creating their own design in a template and after that they were painting the t-shirts with sprays. They enjoy a lot, we also did it and the t-shirts that they create were pretty cool.

Mindig a tetején!
