Saray report - october

Czesc ludzie!!

This week I'm in charge of communication and I'll try to show you my perspective about this experience. My name is Saray and I come from the hot south of Spain, namely Sevilla. During this week the truth is that we haven’t had too many special activities like the previous ones. Anyways, we have continued discovering the country and meeting its people. Last weekend my partners and I decided to visit Wroclaw, a charming town that is located in the south of Poznan and we fell in love with its mysterious dwarves (who symbolize the city), its graffiti and its small details. In addition to that, we have started our personal meetings which help us a lot to chart our way according to our own ideas, needs and expectations in order to take as much advantage as possible of our EVS. Mikel and I have continued our Spanish classes in homeschooling and we have tried to make it more attractive through didactic games. We have also continued with our magnificent Polish classes with a new teacher, Anna, who is very nice (Kacper will miss you X).

Alexandra and I also made present in the opening cultural season, the presentation of course beginning about the activities in KRAG, our community center. Personally, I am really excited to have the opportunity to live this experience from the first moment I decided to embark on this adventure. I cannot lie, sometimes I have been afraid of everything that entails being away from home a lot in a completely different country. But sometimes it is good to be a little bit nervous before new events because that means that we really care and that it motivate us. Well, at first I have seen some slight difficulties due to the language. Of course I am referring to English because it is already obvious that my level with Polish was initially 0... Nevertheless, I have to say that I am very proud of myself and I am pleasantly surprised because I think I am adapting wonderfully. I feel I can communicate more easily and I can even understand and speak very basic little things in Polish. I find this language very interesting and I am very motivated to learn more about it. I love this city and its people, what more can I ask for? I like almost everything about Poznan, and specifically Lazar, the district where we live.

I love its sense of community. It's like a big family that I already feel part of with a multitude of activities, events, workshops, outings, even meals ... These are simple things that are shared and make here breathe a warm climate (despite the cold). About the weather, I have nothing to say, these last few weeks have been a bit harsh… much cold, rain, and some constipated. I know that my family and friends in Seville are jealous because they are still having 40 degrees in their thermometers. I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to share my feelings and I cannot finish without naming my mates, which are lovely and make everything fun and easier. I think we are very lucky to share this experience together and to have found Horyzonty whose volunteers are pure magic and are offering us everything they have with the greatest flexibility giving each of us the opportunity to develop professionally and humanly as part of their humble world like one of them.

Dzieki!! Nastepny przystanek… :P
